Q: What's a good native format for lists that need to include imagery?
Like Markdown, but with images added to list items during the editing phase.
Edited to include an example mockup image.

@marcolas Uh, I'm not sure I understand. Native format of what? Documents? If yes, what do you mean by native? 🤔

@bahmanm something that's more of a human readable source format than a destination. Not PDF. Not HTML that's a tangled mess to read. Just a broad definition

@marcolas So as you said, a #Markdown which renders the images too?

What's the target? Do you plan to open in #Emacs? #LibreOffice?

@bahmanm can be Markdown. I'm open to retooling my HTML authoring situation for example, so that it's more about lists and less about...HTML itself. Translation needs to be able to do HTML output at some point.

@bahmanm thanks...a bit surprised that none of these show images inline. Is this a fundamental computer design theory thing? I found a Markdown editor that will show images while editing...but it lacks additional editing features. Ah well.

@marcolas The editors generally don't show/fetch images while editing. But the "rendered" version (ie HTML, PDF) will inline images as you'd expect.

IIRC #OrgMode (if edited via #Emacs) is able to show inline images while editing. If you plan to write in #OrgMode you can either use #Emacs (if you're already familiar w/ it) or any other editor.

PS: I found stackedit.io/ after a quick search. I have never used it but it looks to check the boxes.

@bahmanm I want to try that with org, any screenshots or links I should check out?

@macadamia_creme
who-a, that NUTS!
(org-mode is second best thing after emacs itself)
