Twitter just changed everyone's DM settings so that you'll only receive messages requests from paying Twitter Blue subscribers, even if you had open filtered DMs before.
Extortion!

What else would you expect from trolls who are of the opinion, "hey, I'm paying for a service, so I own you."?
During the height of the pandemic, a man who didn't want to wear a mask when patronizing an Italian beef restaurant here in Chicago. When asked to put on a mask, his response was, "FUCK YOU. SERVE ME." It's the same ethos with forced DMs (esp if they're men sending the messages, bc their opinions carry more weight). /s

@chrismessina @mckra1g Right, defaulting that option is definitely a cheap move.
@Animus @mckra1g yes, but depending on your situation, it's like your email provider requiring senders to pay them $8 to let your email through, and setting that option as the default and burying the fact that they made the change.
IOW, Twitter decided for us, and made us go undo their nonconsensual change.
