I find it both interesting and sad that many of the celebrity/journalist accounts joining mastodon are following no one.
That means they aren't joining in, don't have a relevant or interesting timeline, and most importantly, don't understand the difference between being fed *curated* information by a corporation and seeking out information for themselves.
We're building a community, not another celebrity worship-fest or automatic political circle jerk machine.

It's the birdshite mentally of "I'm here to be worshipped"
Some have realised this is a community and who you were before is largely irrelevant

I guess we'll find out which famous people can cope for five minutes without having their egos stroked ... I'm guessing not very many.

I've found the same and I'm hoping they come around. I've attempted to engage a couple of them by @ them in other things that they discuss to see if they'll engage. No luck so far, but I'm not giving up yet.
@BE @mafeesh @Roadwarrior29 @jasonpedlow Funny enough I' (very mildly) challenged Krishnan about it and he's just come back with a pretty BS excuse: "I'm just seeing how things go". Without following anyone, or boosting other stuff, or really engaging with people who reply to him. I remain unconvinced.
