Unfortunately, the paper itself is behind a paywall, but I'm curious if they discussed any mechanism at all to the recovery if anyone out there has access to the full paper?

Also, worth noting whenever it is true, this is a small sample size of just 88 people.

@BE Yes, it is a small study. It’s worth noting that another study has shown that some people do not appear to regain their sense of smell or taste.
