I think it's a PR mistake for Apple not to include a USB-C brick in the box for the iPhone 15 series.

Non-nerds will give them enough crap about the port change already — but the "money-grab" narrative will be amplified by the requirement to separately purchase a C power brick (or third-party C-to-A cable).

Yeah, I know their reasons for not including the brick for recent iPhones. I think that was a mistake, too — especially if they knew, at the time, that this change was on the horizon.

They can and should offer a bundle with the charger and cord discounted to cost, and be up front about the fact that it comes with no charger by default. Put a nice disclaimer up saying they're required by law to sell the phone without a charger, and who people should bitch at.
