Books matter. When I was a kid (a deeply weird, #ActuallyAutistic, economically challenged kid), I wanted to make friends, but the rules are frequently unclear even to neuro-typical folk. But I loved #books. I particularly liked the John Bellairs series illustrated by #EdwardGorey (I mean, obviously). It had lots of characters in it who didn't fit in, either.
