It's that old BS about Mohammad marrying Ayisha in an age when there were Christian child marriages among the titled nobility, with the objective of thereby creating political alliances. Such critics always fail to look in the mirror.

"
Classical Islamic sources state that Aisha was six years of age at the time of her marriage with Muhammad (then fifty) and nine at the time of its consummation.
[...]
this has since prompted some[g] Muslim scholars to attempt to contextualize the traditionally accepted age of Aisha with renewed vigor emphasizing on anachronism and the political dimensions of the marriage, often at the expense of historical accuracy.

I'm aware. That still doesn't stop evangelicals from making the pedo case against Muhammad, even with the age difference. His first wife was much older than he was when they got married.

I forgot to mention that it's nerly impossible to imagine either a six-year-old or a nine-year-old leading an army, but that is what Aisha did. Aisha was every bit her father's daughter.

Agreed that it's old BS, but there's still a big difference between titled nobility and a moral or spiritual leader.

It reminds me of the scene from Blackadder:
"Prince George, who is described in his party news sheet as a 'great moral and spiritual leader of the nation,' but is described by almost everyone else as a 'fat, flatulent git."
