Wade: 2023. Summer of 2023. June, maybe.

Wade: Yes. But the work of the special purpose grand jury had been completed prior to the release of the report.

Wade: Yes.

Gillen: So when your contract was re-upped in 2022 you had romantic relationship w/ Willis?

Wade: I signed a second contract, yes. I'm not going to use word re-upped.

Gillen asks about Wade's invoices. Did he bill 24 hours in a day?

Wade: If you look at invoice, it says "date completed." That reflects the day the work/task was completed, not the day I did the hours. I wish the experts who opined on that would have called me to ask about it.

Gillen: Did you receive any modification of your contract at that point, i.e., did the cap on your hours increase?

Wade: The cap on my hours increased according to demands of investigation

Wade said it’s inaccurate to say money he used for travel was all paid for by Fulton County or the state. He said he made a significant % of his income through his private practice. In 2022, half his income came from his firm, he said, and 40% in 2023.

Wade: I take issue w/ idea I'm being paid by citizens of Fulton County...I get a check from the county

Merchant pressed Wade about how he split travel $ w Willis. (He said they did roughly evenly in affidavit) He provided receipt of flight Willis paid for. Wade says that's the only record he has but could be others. Said Willis paid for other things in cash

WADE has been sworn in and is now on the stand. He's being questioned by Ashleigh Merchant, attorney for Mike Roman.

This entire sequence is damaging for Willis and her office. She had hoped to stave off the entire proceeding, and then to quash subpoenas for her and Wade. So far she's 0 for 2 and Wade is being pressed for details about his truthfulness about his relationship with Willis.
