So uh Wagner Group throwing down vs the Russian defense ministry! I knew there was bad blood, but not this level of bad.

My weak bet: if Wagner actually does hold Rostov, they're just going to sit pat and try to extort concessions out of Putin / the defense ministry, maybe try to swap out Shoigu & Gerasimov -- because Putin can't afford to divert troops and focus away from Ukraine when there's a counteroffensive going on.

(But what do I know? I def didn't predict this going on.)

So, Ukraine seems to be stepping up their counteroffensive in the face of Russia's burgeoning civil war.

The Russian Defense Minister said Ukraine wasn't fighting fair.

According to Yevgeniy Prigozhin's Telegram channel, a Russian military helicopter fired on a Wagner convoy shortly before the Wagner forces shot it down with surface-to-air missiles.

If anything, this incident indicates that the situation in Russia is continuing to escalate, and makes it even more clear that the Russian government takes the Wagner Group's actions near Rostov-on-Don very seriously.
