There's a theme I keep seeing in Economic and Policy circles that we can't even pay people to have children. But they all seem to be missing the obvious stuff.

Here's an article from Vox with lots of examples and quotes. And they're right, you can't pay people $10k to have more kids because kids obviously cost way more than that.

But, you also can't pay people to have kids they can't house. Want to go from 2 kids to 3 kids? You probably need another bedroom... /1
