"The model's assumptions are that the flow was 300 cubic meters per second at the start of the eruption. The simulation then gradually reduces the flow until it reaches equilibrium after 24 hours for 30 cubic meters per second. Thus, it continues for six days and only flows from part of the crack. Given that, the lava would reach Grindavíkvegur on the evening of Christmas Day, December 25."
