TIL the largest Celtic coin hoard in the world (at least 68K coins) was discovered by Richard Miles & Reg Mead with a metal detector in Jersey, a British Island, in 2012. The owner of the field the pair found it in only allowed them to search it once a year, after 30 years their patience paid off.
