In this case he was merchant involved in business dealings around the Indian Ocean, so it’s not an unreasonable assumption. But the world he was moving in was *very* cosmopolitan—he would have had regular business dealings with people of many languages and religions.

@tkinias @Quatrus True, very cosmopolitan for that time is much more accurate. I am quite interested in this person now that I am looking into his history. Is there a good book or research paper on his life?
