@ClimateTessa Projectmushroom is currently in beta testing. If you joined now, by creating a new account on mushroom, you would be participating in that testing until the project is deemed ready for release to the fediverse. After that, I believe, you would be able to transfer over your current account to your mushroom account bringing your followers and followed along and then close out your original if that is what you decided to do after testing the mushroom. You can make the new account on mushroom a copy of your present account so that your display name and handle can stay the same if you like. Hope this isn't too confusing.
