Meritocracy is Never Leftist - here is why
There is an inevitable hierarchy with meritocracy. A necessary arbiter or the deserving and undeserving. Of work that is worthy and unworthy. From this hierarchy of merit there must be an enforce to distribute the rewards according to this hierarchy.
Right there we have a power imbalance ripe for abuse.
Next you have people looking to preserve their position of merit, that they credit themselves entirely despite the power dynamics in play 1/2
Meritocracy is anti Anarchist
They begin enforcing the same metric on others that got them their position. Or they deprive other of opportunities that would threaten their position, a position they "deserved" that they "earned".
If you don't already know the alternative to meritocracy, do not call yourself an anarchist. Liking the sound of anarchism doesn't make you one.
