One of the weirder prohibitions I've seen on an instance's ToS is "No advertisements or apologia for cryptocurrencies..." (https://scholar.social/about).

I get that a lot of the cryptocurrency discourse is just hype-mongering and an attempt to create speculative financial bubbles, but there are also people sincerely trying to address real problems. What's more, hype and financial speculation are not limited to cryptocurrencies (e.g. stock picks, metals, college prep). I'm curious how common this prohibition on cryptocurrency discussions is, and whether the moderators have really tried to distinguish between the hype-mongers and those sincerely trying to build a better way of doing things.
