I've had to address several issues with misleading immigration data recently. I've been happy to see people trying to fix mistakes. I also want to emphasize how important it is - regardless of party or politics - that we at least have a shared factual understanding. This is key.

@austinkocher I watched a Fox News story about the border today -- they were using words like "invasion", "overwhelmed" and "hammered" while showing pictures of people calmly getting in and out of vehicles or standing in lines to enter a building. What are the 'facts' there -- the pictures, or the narrative. How many people actually care about facts?

@austinkocher Ironically, I came across this story because I looked at trending topics on 'Twitter' and clicked on 'invasion'. These pictures of the Fox news 'invasion' were placed right next to the pictures from the real invasion of Ukraine.
