What’s with the followers:following ratio shaming on this site?
This is an ever present complaint about my feed.
First of all, it seems stupid. If you don’t want to read my feed, don’t follow me.
But it’s also focusing on the wrong metric I think. I follow 370 people. That’s more than the number followed by most of the people calling me out. Yet they somehow think I’m not engaging.
Second, I respond to a large fraction of the replies to my posts. That can be 100+ a replies a day.
@ct_bergstrom it's interesting that Mastodon lets you hide your social graph, but won't let you hide the number of followers / following.
@trevorcroker @ct_bergstrom is that right? I thought hiding your social graph meant exactly hiding follower/following count. Do you mean it’s private but you can’t hide it from yourself even if you don’t want to know?
I'm pretty sure. Check my profile and see, I just set it to hide it.
