Y'all, I'm telling you this from the bottom of my heart, you gotta stop pretending that bringing information to light will make a conclusion self-evident.
Even if it does, it may not be the conclusion you made yourself.
A big part of why everything is *gestures broadly* is that there's a machine out there getting people worked up over outright nonsense. You don't need truth for a narrative!
And those of us who can see through it are all in our own little corners advocating for our own particular things in our own particular ways, unwilling to come together with our own big-picture narratives.
A coherent, unified, truly persuasive message is needed - and you will have to compromise to get there.
@TechConnectify trouble is there are machines gassing people up and telling them theyre the ones who can see through the other machine. idk what the solution here is other than teaching epistemology from the ground up
@vegetablegremlin Yes, that is a problem, but if you break this down into raw numbers, there is a machine that unites some 40% of the voting public into believing batshit crap and the remaining 60% is either apathetic or fighting among itself *constantly*
"This isn't exactly the policy I think we need, so I'll just sit this one out and keep letting that 40% fuck me over" is the MO of an astonishing number of people.
