@devinprater what made you go with Slint instead of Ubuntu? Ubuntu is a lot more common of a "first linux" OS.
@Demosthenes Ironically, Slackware's packages are just as out-of-date, lol. Gonna get a friend to help me install Arch.
@devinprater have you considered manjaro? It's arch but with an easier UI for keeping things up-to-date

@devinprater @Demosthenes if the aim is to have the latest packages and shinies with stability, I confess opensuse tumbleweed is owning the game for me. I loved using Slackware for all it taught me, arch is great too, both are a bit much for newcomers unless you have time to learn. Opensuse tumbleweed impressed a lot though for its stability even though updates roll like bicycles in Holland. It’s good.
@Demosthenes I could have done ubuntu, but I wanted something closer to Arch, and I hate out-of-date packages, I really do. Especially for accessibility reasons.
