Wow! I've never even been in a church, it looks like a beautiful building. So nice they can have services there now.

Worth waking up for: Sunday service at Holy Trinity, the 1866 church designed by Gilbert Scott that’s been closed since the Cultural Revolution. #shanghai twitter.com/i/web/status/16196

@SexyCyborg mind blowing for a westerner church-school educated older person to contemplate that there are people who have never been in a church. We (humans) are poor at removing ourselves from our self-cantered view of the world.
If you ever get the chance, they are wonderful works of civil engineering and beautiful spaces. As are mosques.

@DutyBard @SexyCyborg I worry most about those that refuse to ever enter a house of worship different than their own religion.

I'd been in churches of many denominations, mosques, and temples well before I had the concept of religion. My parents wanted to introduce me to all the varieties out there in the world while I was very young. This wasn't just for religions, but for everything.

@DutyBard @SexyCyborg I'm not religious but I do like visiting churches, synagogues and mosques. A lot of them are very gorgeous buildings and I love seeing the art and the stained glass and experiencing the way sound moves throughout it. If there is a guide available, I like to learn the history of the area and the place of worship.

@DutyBard @SexyCyborg there is a mosque in Abu Dhabi, incredibly beautiful. I was overwhelmed by it.
