Question for anyone with mastodon knowledge.
After my 2 year hiatus I managed to log in in this qoto. Did a password change, all good. But if I try to look at mastodon.social it says password incorrect. Does every instance use its own password? I’m so confused. When I change it back to qoto the password works fine.
Is this a very obvious new user mistake I’m not getting? Use small words and short sentences please 🤣🤣
@badbirch oh my god, I’ll never learn😅. So far I seem to not be allowed to interact (favor or toot or see toots even) when I enter through the Amaroq app. But if I login through the link in the email and I view it browser style I am allowed to interact everywhere 🤔🤷🏼♀️
@ErikaDesign ah I've only used the web browser and not any apps
@ErikaDesign It does seem to be that way yes, you can just log into your own instance. But you can view and interact with other instances- it will either direct you to copy the info into a window you are logged into, or offer a pop up (which is what I am using now!) where you'll enter your @ in order to interact. I can't figure out why or when which will be which however yet 😂
