Years from now those of us who joined Mastodon before the Great Button Switch of 2022 -- even if it was just a week or two before -- will speak nostalgically of the Days of Tooting. And we will be annoying. #BringBackToots

Now that the Mastodon site uses "publish" rather than "toot" I feel a certain weight of responsibility when I hit the button.

Dragonflies are great hunters that can see 360 degrees. Their large eyes occupy almost their entire head and have only one blind spot located behind their head. Their eyes are made up of 30,000 visual units called ommatidia that allow them to see ultraviolet and polarized light.

To this extent I'm really interested to know how the age breakdown of people on the #Fediverse. On one hand it would seem to make sense to me that most people here remember the "old internet" before the centralization and they're here to rekindle that flame of independence. On the other hand the youths are generally pretty up on this whole technology thing. I grew up on the internet and since then smartphones have become even more ubiquitous.
