I was playing around with ipscrub to avoid storing identifying information in my server’s access logs. It’s a pity Nginx doesn’t allow customizing error log formats, because IP addresses still end up in that.
@FailForward Yeah, I found log_format, and I’m using that to log only the country (from GeoLite2) and the salted hash of the IP (from ipscrub) in access_log, but couldn’t find the same thing for error_log.
error_log doesn’t seem to take a parameter for the log format (it seems to only take a log level), so I can’t use the format I defined with log_format there.
