@fribbledom now the question is what is the threshold there. If you are a money-strung startup and not contributing, you are still a freeloader and that's probably ok. When should you start contributing? When you get to the first revenue? When you get to the break even? When you stop scaling and hiring and start making profit?
This is not all black and white.

Mostly obvious to anybody long enough in the business. Still refreshing that somebody took time to put it together for later reference when a junior team member comes up with their "next great idea they can't let go".
Twitter thread slowly documenting the many small Brexit damages as they accumulate:

Some of those are teething problems, but many are structural. Solutions to many would need treaties re-negotiation, so they are probably about to stick for a longer while.
@awethon Maybe it wouldn't work as well as many of us might think. Check e.g., the article linked from [here](https://qoto.org/@FailForward/105531544314397677). Especially the little discussion on friction in communication.
@trinsec people use metaphors with unbounded growth/expansion to mean "slowly and steadily until you die". So what they mean is of course a bounded growth, we just don't like to be reminded (at least not to often) about that fixed point.
> The human heart is a mystery, capable of endless expansion.

The first problem is when you look at my public timeline:

You'll see that some of the toots (more recent ones) with links to youtube do not have a card, but the earlier ones do.
For the second problem, I'll post a screenshot.

Soundtrack for today. Goodies from The Netherlands.
@benk I got completely wound up on this. I am probably not the target group (costume dramas are ladies 50+, I guess), but it drew me really hard. It's just good literature and well done series adaptation.
@freemo 👍
> But just because you lack the ruler doesnt mean that length is relative, nor does it mean happiness is relative.
Just a day or two ago, in that other time space dilatation conversation you (BTW very skillfully, kudos!) explained to somebody else how length actually is relative. 😀 Maybe similar arguments (who is an observer and how they move) apply to happiness too (this time in the engineer space)...
Let's call it a day.
uspol, doubting one's sanity, empiricism, wasting resources?
@timorl in that specific case you are referring to , you can as well just wait for the courts to settle it with expert/non-expert witnesses. Will just take some time.
Exploring, failing, backtracking, just to identify the only viable path forward. And then scarred, stumbling forward into the future. Learning.
Boring and steady. Knowing little and questioning a lot. Mostly harmless.

This is an experimental scrapbook space. A collection of stuff I want to keep in a form somewhere on the spectrum between a blog and a shoe-box full of scraps, cut-outs, quotes, links and reading notes and sometimes my own silly thoughts about them.
Perhaps it might be of marginal interest to others too, but I don't care that much.
