@leah You should do more of this. Beautiful. Thanks for cheering up my day!
@elchverleiher Yes. More beauty from the author is here: https://500px.com/p/jozef2810
@elchverleiher Beautiful. I think I saw this already somewhere. If I am not mistaken, this series was taken somewhere in Slovakia or so.

@piggo Crematorium?
Just caught this in the morning on DLF Kultur while walking the dog. Now listening to the YouTube mix playlist. This band deserves more attention. At least in my musical world...
@mathias Looks good to me. My advice: go for it! I imagine you'd look fabulous in that gear 😜

@piggo Best Belgian waffles come from Belgium, not a machine 😉 . Anyhow, I guess any local/personal/Internet recipe variation will be tasty. Enjoy!
@piggo
Hmm, was the filling perhaps warm when you folded it? As for the dough elasticity, is largely a function of fat content.
@piggo If you mean that strudel which "burst open", then what you did wrong is you obviously did not "air-vent" it. When you just roll it and then bake, it will almost certainly "explode" - as in your pictures. The next time take a good advice from you mom, or grandma, take a fork and *after* you smear the top with an egg yolk (the glossy top is a matter of taste of course) you poke the whole strudel roll with it. This will create holes in the pastry and when baked, the accumulated gases will have a way to vent. In result, your strudel will remain in one piece and won't explode. Good luck there!

Exploring, failing, backtracking, just to identify the only viable path forward. And then scarred, stumbling forward into the future. Learning.
Boring and steady. Knowing little and questioning a lot. Mostly harmless.

This is an experimental scrapbook space. A collection of stuff I want to keep in a form somewhere on the spectrum between a blog and a shoe-box full of scraps, cut-outs, quotes, links and reading notes and sometimes my own silly thoughts about them.
Perhaps it might be of marginal interest to others too, but I don't care that much.
