As a side note: I think the cause of "such statements" is the rampant ignorance and apathy of the global public!
Maybe it's a sign of a failing education system. Or could be because all the village idiots have megaphones now (thanks to social media).
Maybe even because there is no repercussion from society for being ignorant!
