Progressives won their races. Abortion rights won in every state that voted on them. Fetterman won. Young people turned out en masse. In states, wages were raised, worker rights expanded, and weed legalized.

But we’re supposed to believe we’ve gone “too far left”?

@rbreich I'm not sure you are reading that 100% right. I am a registered republican from PA that voted blue this year. Not because I love democratic policies, but because there were election denying insurectionists on the ballot. If the R's in PA can de-Trumpify themselves, I will consider going back. I think there may be a lot of people like me that voted against the nonsense as opposed for D policy.

You know what they say about assuming.

@GlennG @rbreich Life-long Dem here. I hear what you are saying about the Republican Party needing to de-Trumpify before you consider them again. But voters don’t seem to be excited recently by non-Trumpy Republican candidates, do they? There seems to be a “genie is out of the bottle” thing happening. Desantis in Florida seems to be Trump-adjacent with very authoritarian tendencies, and he won by a landslide. How will “normal” Republicans ever return?

@GeorgeMari @rbreich Fair question…I have no idea. It probably won’t be anytime soon, unfortunately.
