I like people who take a knee to protest injustice, rather than those who want to shred the Constitution.

I'm looking for someone who is an expert on how industrial chimneys disperse pollution. How they calculate the heights required, what speed the pollution needs to be pushed up, etc.

Musk’s anti-Fauci tweet is my breaking point; leaving the other app behind so might as well do an #introduction!

I’m an Associate Professor of #Immunology at the #UniversityofWashington in Seattle. My lab studies programmed cell death in the context of cancer, infection and autoimmunity. Check out OberstLab.org for more info.

Outside the lab, I spend as much time as I can outdoors: Biking, rock climbing, hiking and #birding with my wife and our Irish Water Spaniel Rufus. What a good boy!

One of my favorite truisms. The six stages of debugging:

1. That can’t happen.
2. That doesn’t happen on my machine.
3. That shouldn’t happen.
4. Why does that happen?
5. Oh, I see.
6. How did that ever work?

It’s for actions and statements like this that I will never use Twitter, buy a Tesla, or ride on a SpaceX rocket while Elon Musk is in charge. axios.com/2022/12/11/lawmakers

Reminder: any lawmakers who engaged in insurrection on January 6th must be held accountable and barred from holding public office now and in the future.

And yes, that includes Donald Trump.

From 2015-19, #DCS investigated the family lives of 1 of every 3 Black children in #Maricopa County, #Arizona according to a ProPublica/NBC News analysis.

A recent study projected that by the time Black children in Maricopa turn 18, there’s a 63% chance they'll see their parents investigated by DCS, the highest rate among the 20 largest US counties.

Put another way, more Black children in metro #Phoenix will go through a child maltreatment investigation than won’t.

I don't often post for Follow Friday but today is Genocide Prevention Day, so I suggest

@auschwitzmuseum

Their posts humanise the horrible numbers that accompany the holocaust. In our world, where people have to be reminded of the true horror of what genocide is, and how it has its seed in a corrosive nationalism that dehumanises the Other - it is important to see the faces of the mothers, fathers, children . . .

I’m a stickler for reading posts in my feed in the order they were posted. In Metatext, arrows pointing up on the “Load More” bar indicate new posts will be added above the bar, and your focus will be at the bottom of this list of new posts, so the next post in chronological order.

I created an "Intro to the RISC-V ISA" slide deck for a recent presentation; please feel free to use/borrow it you find it useful. github.com/rsnikhil/RISC-V_Int (There are probably many other slide decks out there with the same title!). #RISCV

There's no systemic racism but weirdly every time we train an AI on public data sets it becomes very racist.

OMFG I had a super fun and intense conversation with the one and only @taylorlorenz (current reigning queen of this website) about the general insanity of all online discourse. I LOVED THIS CONVERSATION and I think you will too! (and yes, we DO talk about Mastodon!) open.spotify.com/episode/0Gl60 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/

Moments ago I spoke to Brittney Griner.

She is safe.
She is on a plane.
She is on her way home.

I designed this 3D printed passive multiple adapter for 6.35mm and 3.5mm jacks, Banana plugs and DuPont headers today!

Way too often, I find myself needing alligator clips to make two types of connectors talk to each other, so I've decided to build a little box to connect together my most used connector types.

I hope it's useful to someone else! (beep: @synthdiy)
