Back is bad still but I think it’s getting better. Pain like this drains my energy and ability to think. Other worries start to come to the forefront. A lot of mornings I have a sob while I get ready.

My first thought was that Mattel/Warner Bros has *some nerve* using Aqua’s "Barbie Girl" in the actual Barbie movie (after suing them into the stone age when the song came out in the 90s). But my second thought is that I hope Aqua makes ENORMOUS TRUCKLOADS of cash from the movie to make up for it.

I’ve said it before, but I need to say again that I take it personally when community conferences choose a fun or familiar location over one that is safe for their LGBTQIA+ and even women attendees at a time of historic, concerted legislative and criminal attacks against us. It tells me absolutely all I need to know about your leadership and care for the diverse cybersecurity community. There are plenty of affordable venues in places that aren’t banning emergency healthcare and harassing people for using the bathroom.

As many have already heard last week, Dragos had to let go about 50 people. Tuesday last week was my last day on the job, and as of today I am slowly beginning my search for a new role while allowing myself plenty of time to unwind between roles (for a change).

My role at Dragos was to reverse engineer ransomware and I would love to continue reverse engineering malware (not just ransomware) in the future. I've worked in a few different threat intelligence roles over the last several as well.

I'm located on the US East coast and am currently looking to stay remote as relocation and travel are not an option for my family.

Books are being taken off library shelves and out of school rooms at the mere mention of two dads, but books about a mom and dad procreating and living their lives are just fine. /1
