@RickiTarr

It is that time of year again. I need to do obligatory post 🎄

#disabled community, please repost:
I am looking to get in touch with any disabled voice actor who has experience doing audio description. This is for a project I am working on. There was a whole AD community on the birdsite, but I am no longer on there so I don't have access to it. I'm hoping some folks migrated over to Mastodon. #audio #audioDescription #AD #blind #voiceActing #VoiceOver

hey all!! i need your help.

my instance permanently shut down with zero warning and my last backup was from september, but didn't realize following exports weren't included in the archive.

please boost to hopefully help me find my followers

Holy crap! #DarkBrandon is serious about taking on #BigPharma price gouging.

"The Biden administration has determined that it has the authority to seize the patents of certain high-priced medicines, a move that could open the door to a more aggressive federal campaign to slash drug prices."

Big Pharma doesn't innovate. They gouge us on drugs developed with our tax dollars. Dark Brandon isn't having their malarkey.

After hack, 23andMe gives users 30 days to opt out of class-action waiver

Anyone who fails to opt out "will be deemed to have agreed to the new terms."

Why write JavaScript 🧑🏻‍💻 when you can just go enjoy your life? 🤔

⚠️ 23andMe just sent out an email trying to trick customers into accepting a TOS change that will prevent you from suing them after they literally lost your genome ro thieves.

Do what it says in the email and email legal@23andme.com that you do not agree with the new terms of service.

If you have an account with them, do this right now.

Want to help me make a new #PeerTube video???

I'm not feeling very inspired lately, but I don't want to fall out of the habit of making videos. So I thought I'd hit up all of you BRILLIANTLY INSIGHTFUL GENIUSES to help me come up with an idea.

I need you to reply with an idea. I'll take the best 4 ideas, and have everyone vote on their favorite. Whichever wins, I'll make it and give credit to the one who came up with it.

This could be great, or a disaster. Either way, it's content.

I just used @MostFollowed to find and follow a dozen+ people and orgs I didn't realize were on #Mastodon. Most are in news and politics. Recommended.

Hey #fediverse friends.

I'd really love your help helping one of my team out of a really #shittysituation.

Back at the height of the #COVID crisis, their car was written off after a hit-and-run. One of the few cars they could get at the time which made sense was a #2012ChevroletVolt.

That car, which still has more than $10,000 on it in outstanding finance, is now dead after a $10 part failed (but which the dealership is refusing to replace and instead wants to replace an entire module within the battery pack for $6,000+.

They can't afford to repair the car, and they certainly can't walk away from the car payment without getting into a really bad place. They've been saving up for their wedding, but in this climate, they're getting nowhere fast.

Please consider helping them out. They're a good bean. https://gofund.me/72cf9f23

And in case you are curious, the person I'm talking about is @BeanieCam, my #videographer at @show who works above and beyond and is responsible for some of this AMAZING #videography.

This is pretty clever. A phish going around spoofing Wordpress and telling people to install a security update that references a fake CVE. In this case, the "patch" is a website backdoor.

So you want to experience the night sky?

Like, *really* experience it?

Here's why dark sites are important, and how to find them.

Also: If I have done the math correctly, this is my 50th article for Scientific American. Dayum.
