So here's my transition plan from Twitter, which absolutely no one asked for:
1) I'm deleting the app from my phone after this next week of travel
2) I will NOT be paying for Twitter Blue, which means I'll soon be unverified. Oh well.
3) I'll still use Twitter to follow my global comrades who are relying on it for now for certain causes, including the campaign to #FreeAlaa.
Meanwhile, I'm downloading the Mastodon app, finding my Twitter follows over here, and trying to figure out all the joys of this platform, while simultaneously dialing back overall on my social media usage in favor of DuoLingo.
@jilliancyork I've used third-party mastodon apps (tusky, fedilab, and twidere) and the official mastodon app. Gonna be honest the official app is actually not bad. I haven't tried the PWA
@owenblacker @JoshuaACasey @jilliancyork same here. I read the official client was published in a bit of a rush, and it's not as polished as the existing ones.
