Jesus Christ this guy has a really bad take. Like, Twitter has a consent order with the FTC but Musk sure seems intent on breaking it. Other than that, companies really don't have much in the way of binding privacy regulations in the US.
I'm actually moderately impressed by how ignorant these people are.

@JoshuaACasey An excellent example of one of the many issues with Twitter and its model - it encourages people to post their ignorant opinions about subjects they know nothing about. Of course, some of this kind of stuff is likely deliberate disinformation and FUD, users with high follower counts will often try to stop a mass migration to Mastodon over fears of losing popularity. Regardless, this may as well be a blessing in disguise, do we really want people so easily fooled by misinformation over here?
