This is what I have been saying, it's Germans every time.
@Zerglingman @Mapadmin You say that, but the guy that runs NNIA is named "Leon Wierstamann". It's always Germans.
@p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin thats not his legal name. nnia isnt run by germans (or at least, lecter isnt german. its possible theres a german i don't know about on the admin team)
@grumpy @Mapadmin @Zerglingman

> thats not his legal name.

He said it was, and it sounds pretty German to me. Prostasia, Newgon, all Germans.
@p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin
>He said it was

when? only time i've ever seen lecter mention his legal name is to tell people he's not going to tell them his legal name

lecter often talks about life in russia, and the differences between russian and american culture. he also talks about the russian language a lot and is better at speaking russian than he is english. this is the first time in all the years i've known about lecter that i've seen anyone say he's german

>Prostasia, Newgon, all Germans.

i've never heard that but i don't doubt it. newgon weirds me out and i know very little about prostasia

@grumpy @p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin Prostasia is a US-based child sex abuse prevention & human rights organization (so, in other words, not German)

@JoshuaACasey @p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin yeah, i never really got the impression that most map organizations were german. all the ones i've seen are american
Follow

@grumpy @p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin Prostasia is not a "map organization". I mean, we do support the mental wellbeing of maps. But we are a child protection organization.

@JoshuaACasey @p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin fair enough. i really know nothing about it but i hear it talked about in passing by other maps so i assumed
@JoshuaACasey @grumpy @Zerglingman @Mapadmin

> Prostasia is not a “map organization”. I mean, we do support the mental wellbeing of maps. But we are a child protection organization.

..."We"?
@JoshuaACasey @Mapadmin @Zerglingman @grumpy Shit, I completely forgot about @ProstasiaInc also being on qoto.org. Makes perfect sense: freemo's a fuckin' glowie.
@p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin @JoshuaACasey are you really that surprised there's a prostasia representative on fedi? all the pedos and pedo-enablers got kicked off twitter, so they're all here now. we've got a representative from newgon too.

@grumpy @p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin I have been on mastodon since before I became a prostasia volunteer because I like computers and technology. And I think open source software like mastodon is pretty cool.

Also. Not a pedo. I'm a heterosexual (of course my sexual orientation is really not any of your business)

@JoshuaACasey @p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin i didn't say you were a pedo, i would put you under the "pedo enablers" category in this sense. regardless though i'm not really interested in finding out or discussing your sexuality, and i'm not trying to.
@grumpy @Zerglingman @p @Mapadmin @JoshuaACasey shockingly, freedom of speech platforms have people speaking freely
@errante @JoshuaACasey @Mapadmin @Zerglingman @grumpy Prostasia is a propaganda factory, Newgon is explicitly using fedi for propaganda operations, NNIA has a bunch of people who spend their time producing propaganda and is explicitly, per their description, an activist instance.

Most people are here to communicate with people, activists are here to make people do something: it's an advertisement but to push terrible politics on people instead of pushing products.
@errante @JoshuaACasey @Mapadmin @Zerglingman @grumpy Yeah, the propaganda factory has a break room, so? Doesn't have anything to do with anything: it's a propaganda factory for something repulsive.
@p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin @grumpy @JoshuaACasey its funny 2 see your free speech extremism break down around this stuff
@errante @JoshuaACasey @Mapadmin @Zerglingman @grumpy "Free speech extremism means you waive your right to declare that someone is spewing propaganda" is, without a doubt, the stupidest goddamn thing I have ever heard you say. It requires you to have completely failed to know the topic, to have completely failed to think through anything you have said, and to have completely failed to pay attention. This is an extremely disappointing level of retardation.

I will use small words. Freedom of speech is a universal human right. It is not some sort of dictum that says you cannot disagree with what someone is saying or make a value judgment about anyone else's speech. It would be useless without disagreement: nobody would need to discuss anything. It would be pointless if individuals did not decide anything after hearing what someone has to say.

I'm not trying to stop them, I'm saying they are reprehensible pieces of shit pushing horrible ideas.
@p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin @grumpy @JoshuaACasey > This is an extremely disappointing level of retardation.

i've always been looking for testimonials for my profile :)

i'm just saying that i rarely see you call any expression of the right to free speech 'disgusting' other than this :P

i suppose i overstepped my assumptions on how you regarded free speech, thats my mistake
@errante @JoshuaACasey @Mapadmin @Zerglingman @grumpy

> i'm just saying that i rarely see you call any expression of the right to free speech 'disgusting' other than this :P

I used small words. The *right* to freedom of speech is not what I have said is disgusting; I have said that what they are saying is disgusting. It is. In fact, in order to say that freedom of speech is involable is to say that attempts to compromise that right are reprehensible.

To make any assertion of P is to assert ¬P.

> i suppose i overstepped my assumptions on how you regarded free speech, thats my mistake

It's not "overstepping", it means you can't have seen anything that anyone has written and also cannot have thought through the implications of anything you assume people think. So that I could stop repeating the very basic shit, I wrote an entire post on it: https://blog.freespeechextremist.com/blog/what-is-freedom-of-speech.html . Propaganda's an annoyance, it targets people that aren't paying attention, but what you have said relies on neither of us paying attention. You ought to understand my values before you say "compromised values~". To say that without even attempting to udnerstand the thing you have declared compromised is an affront to human consciousness. I hate these terrible pedophilia advocates but I have at least tried to understand what they were saying; do me the courtesy.
@p @Zerglingman @Mapadmin @grumpy @JoshuaACasey i also used small words and yet you didnt understand, despite quoting them :P

> The *right* to freedom of speech is not what I have said is disgusting; I have said that what they are saying is disgusting.

yes. shockingly, this is what
> any expression of the right to free speech

this is the only expression of that right (ie; what they have said) that i have seen you say is disgusting

this is what my idea of overstepping that my comments should be interpreted in light of.
@errante @JoshuaACasey @Mapadmin @Zerglingman @grumpy

> i also used small words and yet you didnt understand, despite quoting them :P

I regret doing a second pass at that reply to try to tone it down.

> this is the only expression of that right (ie; what they have said) that i have seen you say is disgusting

What exactly is wrong with using stronger terms when discussing something as completely fucked up as arguing for pedophile acceptance? It's predatory, and they're trying to use the "accept everyone and everything!" shield to provide cover. There can and should be—and for most people, there is—a visceral disgust for exploiting the (otherwise reasonable) trend towards general tolerance, and to try to exploit that to advocate for child predators is worse.

This is not the only concept that disgusts me. If you have not seen me say that other concepts also disgust me, there are a million of them; you can just scroll for four and a half years of me thinking some things are great and some things are terrible. This last year I have not done as much arguing on the internet with people I dislike about concepts I dislike because I have too much shit to do to waste any of my focus, which probably accounts for skew in your samples. Dogmatism was on the list, speaking of propaganda: you scroll far enough and you'll see a handful of rants with various permutations of the phrase "discarding your humanity to become a mouthpiece for someone else's ideology". Solidarity was on the list, it's a meaningless word used by people that want to exploit others. Attempting to re-litigate wars (WW2 and the Civil War are popular), that was on the list. I likened KiwiFarms to a group of children standing around taunting a retarded kid and trying to get him to pull his dick out (pointless and disgusting mob mentality to achieve something nobody actually wants to see and instigated by a sick mind), and byuu faking his suicide to try to get KiwiFarms removed as even worse.

In general, attempts to compel people are bad, attempts to exploit them by compulsion are worse, and abusing the defenseless by predation are reprehensible, and raping kids checks off all of those boxes, so advocates for that kind of thing are disgusting. Do you have an objection or not?

@p

There is no part of free speech that requires anyone to like what is said or to listen to what is said. There is no reasonable right to obligate anyone to listen.
