(And before you think they’re bad people or whatever, these are exactly the kind of people Twitter management are failong to protect, so don’t you dare do pull any victim blaming here.)
Fact is that a lot of the alternetives have failed people. Many in my group group tried Mastodon, bounced right off. Not sure why, but my guess is UX disaster among other things. These people deserve better.
People don’t use Twitter alternatives because Twitter alternatives failed them.
I usually don’t complain about Twitter here, but I absolutly will when I see tech elitist shit like this.
Applogied for my harsh tone. I’m just incredibly frustrated that people I care about literally don’t have a social media alternative that is non-techie friendly *and* protects minorities from bigotry.
@torb @demvoter @davidgarywood I'm mostly still on twitter because I follow a lot of sex workers and porn accounts there. Because Twitter, unfortunately, is the only social media site left that allows them to exist and have accounts. (Fuck SESTA/FOSTA! Fuck Kamala Harris)
