So, #Twitter employees who don't explicitly take action to say, "yes, I want to be overworked by a guy who's already shown in public that he has no respect for his employees" within 6 hours from now will be fired with 3 months' severance.

As a veteran web developer, I would absolutely be taking that severance. I've job-hunted many times during my career, and it's never taken me more than 3 months to find a new position. 1/x

Still curious to know what protections are in place to prevent journalists from losing access to their accounts when they're laid off. Reporters get laid off abruptly in many cases & don't have time to backup emails, contact lists, or work stored on cloud drives. Is there something that prevents them from being locked out of an instance before they can transfer to another one? If nothing, then joining a newsroom instance seems like a bad idea.
