Have you ever seen an oak tree dance?

Britain is full of 'lost' rainforests, predominantly in the southwest and northwest of England, west Wales and the west coast of Scotland. There are other areas where the conditions are perfect too, like this one in the Peak District National Park.

When the rain starts and the cloud base drops into the rainforest, the trees come alive. Everywhere you look, there is magic and mystery.

A fair time ago I shot a little tree in a lake, that lake being Lake Wanaka, that tree being that tree..
Not really popular at the time this location is really like crack to photographers, a single tree in a beautiful lake, changes with the seasons, you get storms, stars, snow.

I have many shots (none since it got damaged) this is one of my favs

When I was a child I imagined a future full of useful technology advancements and conscience about our place in the world as human beings.

But all I see today is a bunch of big corporations trying to trick you 24/7 into buying a lot of stuff you don't really need, destroying the environment and creating huge societal divisions.

We have to stop that and start thinking about the world we really want to live in.

the daughter of one of the early nuclear engineers. He specialized in materials research for shielding suitability;
70 years old;
retired from a healthcare system after 40 years of employment with them, the last 20 years were in IT;
The proud mother of a mathematics in a Denver university who is also invilved with the LGBTQ community;
fond of #sci fi;
also watch extended versions of #lotr every year;
former mother of a bushbaby, who passed in 1971;
definitely left of center;
a voter;
getting solar panels in February;
a fugitive from Texas currently in Albuquerque, NM;
fond of all animals, used to be the neighborhood snake wrangler;
the daughter of a natural history devotee;
a voracious reader;
the wife of a fine arts scholar, who has read me to sleep every night for 24 years - all of the major classics and many of the minor ones (I got the liberal arts education that I had missed as a science student);
a terrible housekeeper, with an even worse house husband;
glad to be alive even though that might change any day with the current political disaster.

@stux: Some people probably think Mastodon has an algorithm they can game to stifle the speech of anyone they disagree with. Which seems to be what happens on Twitter.
