Just heard from the Wise Group’s “The People’s Project” - getting homeless people into housing for 15 years in Hamilton, Tauranga. Research just done with 390 people they worked with who secured a home (65% private housing/35% public).
The 390 are classified by government as “hard to reach” - Māori, LGBTQI+, disabled, mental health.
These ‘hard to reach’ folks had a few logged interactions with government over the 15 previous years. How many, between them? Go on, guess…
