It should be relatively obvious by now that I’m not #tech oriented. Nor do I know anything about software. I can’t even keep #photoshop from crashing on me every time I’m editing a macro shot of a bee’s butt. That’s how technologically inept I am.

But speaking of bee’s butts and #macrophotography …

Jeff Bezos could write a check for $200,000 to every Amazon employee today, and still have $58 billion left over. If he doesn’t end up giving most of his money to his own charitable organization I’ll eat my hat.

As we don’t need timeline cleansers here who wants to see a baby sloth? Me!!!!

The fact that far too many people cannot recognize fascism unless it looks exactly like Nazi Germany is very dangerous.

You can just be a girl if you want. It’s okay. Or a boy, or something else, or no gender at all. You’re not too old, or too young, or too much, or not enough, or trespassing, or appropriating, or causing trouble. It’s okay. Really.

But the important thing is: do what you want, not what you think you’re allowed. Find the joy and follow that. You can experiment and you can change your mind. That’s okay too.

Everybody should be quiet near a little stream and listen. - Ruth Krauss

Lana Horowitz:

Real evil isn't the one that can be recognized by everyone.

Real evil is the one that can manipulate 95% of the people into believing that it's a victim...

And can provoke these 95% to destroy those 5%, who can see & understand It's reality

Mastodon is developing a critical mass - the people I follow are boosting the people they follow - who I then can also follow - so I'm organically discovering goodness.

I cannot believe how progressive it is to already have a fully-functional decentralised network, in which anyone can not only create their own communities (federations) but also shape their functionality and build apps - hell, games! - to interact with them.

A Christmas Party in an underground shelter in London, December 25, 1940

So much more love and sense of community on this platform than I’ve experienced elsewhere. Thank you to everyone who has followed, favourite and retooted!

Towards the north end of Loch Maree lies the Slattadale parking area. A narrow single track lane takes you down to the loch side where the view south opens up. The islands of Loch Maree are important for wildlife and also have a long history of local folklore.

...
Down near the bottom
of the crossed-out list
of things you have to do today,

between “green thread”
and “broccoli” you find
that you have penciled “sunlight.”

Resting on the page, the word
is beautiful, it touches you
as if you had a friend

and sunlight were a present
he had sent you from some place distant
as this morning—to cheer you up,

and to remind you that,
among your duties, pleasure
is a thing

To be Ungovernable: On the History and Power of Black Anarchism

By request from @igd_news, this zine explains how for centuries Black people have been fighting the systems that have always excluded them. It’s within these collective histories and current struggles that we see the rhythms of anarchism.
