I know I said I would post on #caturday but this is urgent and cannot wait.

We have a three-week old kitten apparently abandoned by its mom in our backyard. I found a "surrogate mom" stuffed cat with a pocket for a heat pack and a battery operated heartbeat. I thought it might be silly but it was cute and I bought it anyway.

Mario (said kitten) LOVES it. Twice last night when I woke him up for bottle feeding I found him burrowed under it with just his head poking out.

This is my adorable goofball Scupper,he was found tied to a doorknob outside the rescue shelter. 10 years later he has traveled over 15,000 miles via RV and another 5-7,000 miles via sailboat . Now a retired landlubber with his little sister (Batgirl) lovin the land life on 5 acres of beautiful Michigan countryside. Hugs to everyone, and thanks to #mastodon for bringing this to life.

I was reminded last night (with my #Buddhist friends) of the power & beauty of rejoicing in people’s merit. Telling people something positive about them, their qualities & what makes them special isn’t an everyday practice for most. But we all know how much a kind word or gesture can give us a boost.

Today I rejoice with delight in my daughter, who is gentle, compassionate & a social justice “ambassador.” I’ve learned so much from her & am very #grateful
