One of the nicest things about #Shetland winters is when the mirrie dancers appear. Mirr means blur in Shetland #dialect. Tonight as I watched the #AuroraBorealis , it really did appear like dancing figures, the speed of their movement obscuring their edges as they merged with the darkness #nature #Scotland #aurora

Frost, mist and low winter sun. Pretty much all we could wish for.

OK, here goes. I am a suburban housewife in my late 50s. I’ve spent the last 18 years away from the world of work nurturing my family in London, Paris and, latterly Hong Kong. Always interested in current affairs, I’ve watched with despair as my country has been trodden into the ground by malign forces. This is respite, of a kind. #introduction

"For some reason, maybe a lack of personal interaction outside of my home in the past few months, I've taken to watching reality TV of an evening when I've been unable to read any more.

This feels like I should be in a confessional box as I say this - although I'm not a Catholic, I do have a great deal of Protestant guilt ingrained into my DNA."

Got a minute … only a minute? then watch this … 16 minutes long … you could finish it in three weeks without rushing … Hope that is helpful :ablobangel: :blobcatsign: :blobfoxsanta: :blobhalo:

My little #Robin friend on this cold wet and misty morning in #Bath #Somerset #UK. His feathers are fluffed out so he can stay warm. He was very busy this morning, warning the other birds about the Sparrowhawk eating its breakfast in one of the trees in his wood. #Birds #BirdsOfMastodon #Nature #Wildlife #UK Birds #UKBirding #BritishWildlife #UKWildlife #Birdwatching #WildlifePhotography

The longer I’m around the more I’ve learned life is about perspective. Like who knew the underside of a mushroom could be such an interesting view? I mean the ants & ladybugs probably knew but they weren’t spilling their secrets.

Try to view things a little differently today and just see what happens. Hopefully good things. ❤️

I’m reflecting today on how I’m seeing a lot of really cool content on Mastodon, but I’m NOT seeing a lot of personal updates. In the Long Covid, Disability, #NEISvoid, etc. communities I was mostly immersed in on Twitter, I saw a lot of the daily reality that others with similar health issues were dealing with, which allowed me to offer support and helped me feel less alone. I feel like there’s more interesting facts/photos and less personal sharing here. Thoughts?
