About quitting Twitter: Professor Snyder's first two of twenty rules for fighting tyranny from the 21st century: 1. Do not obey in advance. 2. Defend institutions.
Twitter is an institution. We need to show up as per pre-Musk to "not obey in advance."
So I'm with @sarahkendzior@beta.mstdn.cf and @jeffjarvis on this. I've got a foothold in Mastodon, but I am still active on Twitter for as long as possible.

@davidisen Why should we defend institutions without any consideration for whether they're worth defending?
Sometimes a decrepit or corrupted institution needs to burn so something better can rise from its ashes.
