"AI" is being pushed for several reasons:

1) corporations want to replace as many human employees and creators as possible,

2) they want to diffuse responsibility as much as possible by being able to blame "AI" when something goes wrong, and

3) they're all a bunch of venture capital goldfish brains chasing the next hyped tech woo.
