I don't know if this is common knowledge, so I'm going to put it out there.

Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, voice command and sight-clicking technology... ultra-light weight equipment and all that stuff, is used in more than just playing online or even watching movies. It's used even beyond what the Marketing guys talk about with it "revolutionizing" your home.

Picture for a moment the thousands and thousands and thousands of people who could use this to better engage with the world like the rest of us do on a daily basis.

Being able to look at an icon and open something with a twitch of a finger might seem like a convenience to you, but it might be literally world-changing for someone else.

This technology needs to exist. It needs to evolve. We as a society need to build into it. This layer might not be building "holodecks" but who knows which level will be?
