For what little it's worth, I'd take a Florida indictment as good news for Trump. The prospect of a jury of Florida Man peers is waaay better for him than a DC jury.
@danielnazer @Popehat Do you live here? Nah…it’s not good news! DeathSantis will take this and run with it! He’ll say justice must be done. There couldn’t be a worse place for Trump - including DC!
People here are NOT flying Trump flags anymore - as a rule…and I live in the center of the state. Red as can be. Up til he lost, it was Trump as can be.

He’ll take this and run with it…meaning he’ll take the indictment and use it for all it’s worth - probably spouting “He’s innocent, he should go through the process like the rest of us.” He’d look good to GOP Floridians - whilst knowing Trump will get nailed in the end.
Please read more carefully in the future. In no way did I say DeSantis would put a stop to it.

From what I hear, They like DeSantis here better than Trump. They hate DeSantis for what he’s doing to Disney.
Disney is winning that one.
So, DeSantis could carry FL, but Trump will prob carry the rest in primaries. I’m just talking about my area and my state, btw. I never carried that nationwide, etc.
@jann That sounds consistent with what I see here in Orlando. I do still see Trump flags, but I see way more DeSantis merch.
But I think it's way more likely DeSantis will go mostly hands-off and just watch Trump implode with the rest of us.

@jann Yes, that's been his entire strategy for Trump so far. He makes the occasional snide remark kicking Trump when he's down, but other than that, he just postures himself as the capable culture warrior to contrast against Trump's incompetent culture warrior reputation.

That he CAN’T help him wouldn’t appear on their radar.
