The social media doomsayers and AI doomsayers (all tech insiders, btw) are tripping over themselves and the bodies they're killing off.

@jeffjarvis There's a reason why google fired that engineer who thought their AI had become sentient. For every one hysterical crackpot in the tech industry, there are a hundred more sensible people with realistic expectations. Neither LLMs nor social media are going to "kill tens of millions". What they will do is reinforce some biases and make life worse for some minorities (but, really, what big system doesn't do that?). We can work on improving these things, but the hysterics don't help anyone.
