We live in a world so late-staged capitalism-ed, that I can't walk into a building with thousands of dollars in cash and ask them to take the money.
The "Lead" looks disinterested the moment he see's they have zero in stock and he tells me between yawning that I could have done this all online.
I could purchase a computer, by getting onto my computer to do so. The concept that I would be unable to get onto *his* computer and make my purchased unaided was beyond scope.
"I'm new to this world, can you help me?" I asked.
"Yeah - just get click that and then put your information in." he said, nodding to another customer and giving them "the finger" to indicate he was wrapping up with me.
I had asked him if he was technical, he said, "Hit me". I asked about the the normal applications sizes and how I tend to download large data sets to use python and other tools like DBT to build solutions.
He then explained that the more ram I bought the more "windows I could open". This man cannot help me.
I walked out of the store, thousands of dollars still weighing heavily in my pocket as he explains to the person the various colors this iPhone cover comes in.
