@deannapizzuti Oh no, another stern letter? Gee whiz, whatever will he do?
@SteveCooke (A) I'll believe that when they're actually levied, not when I see a screenshot of somebody threatening to do so.
(B) What's the punishment for him just flat-out refusing to pay the fines they levy against him?
@LouisIngenthron @SteveCooke Musk is no longer CEO so it would be Linda Yaccarino, or if there still is one, the head of the European operations who would appear in legal proceedings.
Punishment would be against the company, not the person, but ultimately it would be a block of Twitter/X services in the EU+Norway+Iceland.
@SteveCooke @LouisIngenthron @deannapizzuti
2 weeks of Twitters current income isn’t really much these days, if it’s in the black at all
@Chancerubbage @SteveCooke @deannapizzuti True, but regulators are slow to count, so if it's 6% of *last year's* income, then that'll probably be enough to bankrupt them, lol
@LouisIngenthron @Chancerubbage @deannapizzuti it is indeed calculated on the previous year’s turnover.
@SteveCooke @LouisIngenthron @deannapizzuti
He became Grand Kahuna in November though. The entire years turnover? It started bleeding money pretty fast, even after firing everyone those last 8 weeks.
@Chancerubbage
Income, not profit.
@SteveCooke @LouisIngenthron @deannapizzuti
@LouisIngenthron @deannapizzuti failure to comply with the directive can result in a fine of up to 6% of annual worldwide turnover. They can levy a fine of millions if he ignores that letter.
