#Jewish #students at #CooperUnion in #NYC sheltered in a library as pro-#Palestinian demonstrators banged on the glass walls of the bldg. At a #proPalestinian protest near #Tulane, ≥2 students were #assaulted in a melee that began when someone tried to burn an #Israeli flag.
And anonymous posters flooded a #Cornell msg board w/ #violent #threats, prompting the school’s president to alert the #FBI. “If you see a Jewish ‘person’ on campus follow them home & slit their throats,” one message said. Another threatened to “bring an assault rifle to campus & shoot all you pig jews.”

@Nonilex Correct. True threats are reprehensible and punishable by law.
@LouisIngenthron that is correct. I was referring to things such as the speech posted by Patrick Dai, the 21-year-old junior at the Cornell University who was arrested yesterday & charged federally under 18 U.S.C. § 875 w/ “posting threats to kill or injure another using interstate communications,” per the US Attorney’s Office for New York’s Northern District. The charge is punishable by up to five years in prison.
