I know the answer to this is obvious, but why aren't there more open source games?
The only one I can think of that people still regularly play is OpenTTD (transport tycoon delux). Doom/Quake etc, don't count - the engine is OS but not the game itself.
@LouisIngenthron That's true. Although if you're basing your game on another that already exists (which is what I'm thinking of) it's less of a problem.
@rhm Right, but even then, such a game would more likely than not end up feeling soulless and meandering. Plus, without a vision, you'll end up copying its flaws too.
